The collection contains 16 helicopters – since the first ones which arrived in Bulgaria in 1957 up to the ones of present time. The helicopters Mi-4, Mi-1, Mi-8, Mi-2, Mi-14, Mi-24D are designed mainly in the constructor bureaus “Mill” and “Kamov”. On them had been passed over the training of flying personnel aimed to fulfil the numeric tasks for securing the troops and military operations of the Bulgarian army. In the collection is also preserved the first helicopter designed by eng. Nikolay Popovski.
By different types of helicopters were carried out construction and installation works in hard accessible high mountain areas, as well as agricultural, accidental and rescue actions, as well as medical security.
